Our top 3 Peruvian food / Notre top 3 de la cuisine péruvienne
Peru is known for it's gastronomy and I would say that after visiting this country for about a month I was very impressed by the quality of the food. The food was especially tasty in Lima. Below you will find our top 3 Peruvian Food that we had the chance to taste.
01 | CEVICHE
I've tasted ceviche in Central America numerous times and I liked it a lot but the Peruvian version is in another category. It's officially the best ceviche I have ever had in my life. You really feel the Japanese influence in this version with the big chunks of fresh fish.
Here are a couple of our favorite spots for ceviche ;
Lima : Canta Rana and la 73
Punta Hermosa : Entremares
Aguas Calientes (Machu Picchu) : Mapacho Craft Beer (Trout Ceviche)
02 | CAUSA
Peru has 3800 different types of potatoes and potatoes is one of my favorite vegetables. This is probably why I like so much this Peruvian dish called Causa. It's basically a potato dow made of yellow potato's, orange peppers and lemon. Then stuffed with avocado, crab or lobster and sometimes also has shrimp. It's so good!!
You can find them in pretty much any Peruvian restaurants.

A sandwich is a very simple dish but I don't know why but Peruvian have a tendency to make everything taste better. My favourite sandwich was at "La Lucha" in Lima with Roast beef, avocado and caramelized oignions. So yummy!!
